World of Quest is an animated series based on the graphic novel (itself based on a short webcomic) story by Jason Kruse published by Komikwerks (as "The World of Quest"). The series was created by Cookie Jar Entertainment, and was animated by Mercury Filmworks East, for season 1. Season 2 was produced by Vancouver's Atomic Cartoons. It appears to be a parody of the fantasy genre that blends swords, sorcery and technology, in the vein of Masters of the Universe. It premiered on March 15, 2008 on Kids' WB on The CW. CW4Kids dropped it from its schedule after airing the first-season finale "Search For Power" on June 14, 2008. It was the last series to be created for the Kids WB! block. The remaining episodes can be seen on Netflix Instant Streaming as well as Jaroo online.

The show aired on Teletoon in Canada [1] and Cartoon Network (UK) in the UK.[2] It premiered on Teletoon on September 1, 2008. It is also being shown on Disney XD in Russia, Hungary, Poland and Brazil.

The show was nominated for Best Children’s and Youth Programme or Series by the Canadian Film and Television Production Association for their 2009 Indie Awards.[3]

In March 2010 Cookie Jar Entertainment announced a deal with Mill Creek Entertainment to release their shows, including World of Quest on the home entertainment market in the U.S.[4]

Characters

Quest first appears in Episode 1 when Prince Nestor arrives because his parents have been captured and he needs to find the Shatter Soul Sword so he can rescue them. Quest refuses until Nestor tricks him into activating an allegiance spell that binds him to the prince.

Even though he orders Quest around and calls him his "bodyguard", Quest usually ends up interpreting his orders to suit his needs.

Originally he was Nestor's companion, and seems to be old friends with Quest.
